Being of the older generation that has been isolated since our nation, kids and grandkids are desperately trying to protect us, I can in all honesty say that it’s awful. Aging is a privilege many do not get to enjoy, yet in the American culture it is viewed as a disability, a reminder that time only goes one way... forward.
The hysteria that the media has created has become a huger Boulder than the virus. The pandemic is real, casualties are inevitable but the lesson to be learned is that we are not always in control. There are not always answers. What we can create is a time to all be connected and united- although not physically. Globally, we can decide to spread kindness, faith, acceptance, compassion and love. Our character is being challenged now and our true character will be difficult to hide. As old as the expression is, “this too shall pass”. Everything does. We need to stay calm, reach out to someone not as fortunate as we are and make a difference in their lives.
Let’s take all of our positive energy to combat mentally what we cannot change. Be the best version of you- and be united as human beings.
